A Swedish 19th Century Dropleaf Dining Table
A wonderful and very useful Swedish Dropleaf "Slagbord" Table. Untreated light Pinewood top and light grey painted base.
This is a typical Swedish piece of Furniture. We date it to ca 1840. It is highly versatile, can be used as a console with planks leafs dropped, or with one side raised.. Ideal as a breakfast table in a smaller kitchen which can double as a dining table. Extends to almost 170 cms, or to 90 cms if only one leaf is raised. The top has been left untreated in freshly scrubbed pinewood, whilst the base is in a greyish partly original, partly restored paint.
